Shabby Ribbon Holders

Shabby Ribbon Holders

Hello ……….I hope everyone is having a wonderful day!  Today I’m posting #2 in my series of  “Let’s Get Organized”……I came across this idea on Pinterest……….. using large wooden popsicle sticks to wrap ribbon around….instead of just plain popsicle sticks….

…… I decided to doll them up a little………..

I found these Super Jumbo wooded sticks at Hobby Lobby….they come 30 to a bag…..I ended up buying 2 bags (because I have mountain of silk ribbon that needs to be sorted and wrapped)…….I gave each stick a light coat of white acrylic paint…..

Next I printed….(count of 35 on each sheet, also called contact sheet size)…..of vintage roses to mod podge to the top………I cut each flower to fit the curve of the stick…..I then gave the back of the print a good coating of mod podge and attached it to the stick and then mod podge the front of the flower to seal it…..I also put the same flower on the back……(so it will look pretty from both sides  🙂  )once that dried…..everything else was hot glued on…..I glued a tiny cream ribbon along the bottom of the picture…..along with a rose or bow……and finished off the edges with pearls……

  1. Another cleaver and CUTE project……just a quick question – What do you plan to do with them? Just curious… 🙂

  2. HI Carolyn….I plan on putting them in a glass jar not only to keep all my silk ribbon in one place but it also makes a lovely display. Thanks for asking….as soon as I get them all untangle and wrapped I’ll post a picture.☺
