Shabby Chic Covered Cans

Shabby Chic covered cans

Today I’m showing off my Shabby Chic Cans…….I spotted something similar to these on Pinterest and decided to make some for my future sewing room……

The large can was an old metal Folgers coffee can that my sweet father-in-law gave me for the project……and the rest are just soup and vegetables cans that I saved…….

Bought the fabric from Hobby Lobby……less than a yard did the trick…..I decided to give all the cans a light coat of white paint since the fabric was not thick at all….did not want the metal showing thru…..after the paint had dried……I placed each can sideways on the fabric and measure how much fabric I needed for each one…..I made sure to have a little over lap for top and bottom of can…….I pretty much eyeball this…..then I covered each one with mod podge and wrap the fabric around …….

I tuck some fabric underneath and inside the top…..looks pretty messy…..but have no fear…..mod podge will  dry clear……hey that kinda rhymes….  🙂

After the mod podge had dried……I pulled out the old hot glue gun and added some lace, ribbon and a flower to each one……..

This is how the large coffee can turned out…..I love it!!!!  Perfect for holding my large sewing sissors……

and this one will hold all my paint brushes……

Hope you enjoyed my Pinterest inspired project……..

Have a blessed day!!!!!
