Springtime at the Dallas Arboretum

Springtime at the Dallas Arboretum

What a busy weekend……….but….. I have to say… I loved every minute of it…..I started off my Saturday with a visit to the Dallas Arboretum for the last week of the “Dallas Blooms”…….(this is when thousands upon thousands of tulips are in full bloom…..it’s a sight to see)…..My daughter came by the house and picked me up…….with our bottled water and packed lunch in toll we headed out towards Dallas…….

Since this was towards the end of the blooming season for the tulips……only a few hundred were still blooming………..yes I said a few hundred…..and they were PINK!

2

Found a patch of white tulips sitting all by themselves in another flower bed……

4

These are azaleas bushes…….hundreds of them…..all in full bloom……..

6

close up shot of the azalea flower………they kind of look like lilies……don’t you think?….

8

More pink tulips……oh how I love pink…….

9

10This is a new project the arboretum was working on……..containers plants and how well they grow…….as you can see…..they are holding up just fine……but the weather is still on the cool side for Texas……not quite in the 90’s yet……

12

This cute little guy stood still long enough for me to capture him with his pecan….he was leaping from pot to pot digging up all the flowering plants and planting his nuts…..looks like the heat is not going to be the only issue they will have to deal with……how do you squirrel proof pots…….

7

I just had to take a picture of this lovely young lady……she was having a photo shoot…..and that dress…….how stunning………..it reminded me of layers upon layers of pink English roses…….

11

If you are ever in Dallas…….The Dallas Arboretum is worth taking the time to visit……it’s open all year round………I always leave inspired to plant something……yep…..I want to plant some tulips……….better mark it on my calendar since planting time is so close to Thanksgiving………yep….I will need to mark it down….because tulips are not on my mind at all come November…..more like pumpkin pie……

….Hope you enjoyed the photos…….Blessings,

French Rabbit in the Guest Room

French Rabbit in the Guest Room

Good morning everyone!  Did you have a wonderful Easter Celebration?……We certainly did…..my house was full of family and food and yellow bunny peeps ….yes the marshmallows ones….I get a kick out of placing them here and there on the dessert….they are so stinky cute………….talking about bunnies…..today I’m sharing my french rabbit…..can you say…….ooh la la…..

2

His home is located in my middle guest room upstairs…..I did warn you how much I love bunnies…….I’m planning on keeping him out all year round…..

4

I just love the rhinestone hanging around his neck and the lovely lace……This bedroom I recently painted from purple…..yes I said purple……to a creamy white……..I’m still working on the decorations in here……I think I have finally decided on a theme….Paris……I just love Paris…..a few years ago I was able to go there with my husband…….what a trip……we had the best time…….I’m so blessed……..

3

I have been buying little bits of decor that reminds me of Paris…….  🙂

5

I just purchased this lamp at Home Goods on clearance….I checked it out good….wondering why they had marked it down so low……found only a tiny mark on the shade….looks like fingernail polish……no problem…..I can handle a little mark…..for that price……you could barely see it………… and check out the picture……

6

It has a pale pink high heel shoe with bling……with the word Paris at the top……I also have another picture that has New York at the top that goes with it……..I found them both at Kirkland’s in the clearance section…..the plan is to hang them on the wall next to the bed……I’ll keep you posted as I continue to play around in this room with the decor….hopefully soon I can show off the whole room…….

Have a blessed day…..

You still have plenty of time to make these for Easter ….

…All you need is fake white eggs…..some press on pearls….I bought light pink, white and teal blue….small paper roses……and some tiny strips of lace or ribbon…all my supplies came from Michael’s……..everything but the roses had adhesive backs……. making it super easy to press on the pearls and ribbon….you will need some glue for the flower…..I used my handy dandy glue gun……

furry basket

you can place these in a beautiful basket……or as part of your decor on the table……….

My Springtime Angel

My Springtime Angel

Hello everyone…..Hope you all are having a great day……My day started out with thunderstorms early this morning….when I say early…..4 am early is what I’m talking about……but no severe weather was near us…… but just south of us…. they had large hail and wind…….very thankful we just had a little rain and rumble….

As you can see……..I’m still in Spring mode in the house….2

Showing off “My Springtime Angel” today……..Yes… even my little angel is joining in on the springtime fun…….his special place is located on my buffet in the dining room……..3

Bought him at Home Goods last year…….with the help of my baby sister…..who happen to be with me at the time I spotted him……she insisted I needed him……I believed her….and she was right…. 🙂

He makes me smile……4

Found this sweet feather friend at Michael’s Craft Store…… the price was right….I may go purchase another one……it’s hard to find a dusky rose bird……don’t you agree?……

5

…..and I finally found some pink and white tulips…..I had been looking for a while……..I wanted them to already be in a container as an arrangement…….none to be found…..so I decided to buy single stems and place them in a glass vase, I added a little water to the bottom….to make them look like the real thing……and they do……. the good news is ……they were on sale at Hobby Lobby……just $1.99 a stem…..sweet….6

I just love pink…….yes…..it’s my favorite color……

7

Hope you enjoyed “My Springtime Angel”………and do something that makes you smile…….  🙂

Enjoy your day!

Blessings,
