#2 gerber daisy

I’ve been keeping a watchful eye out for the grand opening of the first bloom of the summer….. Finally happened…..Makes a statement for sure….This is the 2nd year for this plant…..it was given to me as a gift last summer….In Texas, Gerber Daisies also know as Gerbera Daisies, are pretty much perennials….in colder climates they are annuals….. My goal is to have all perennials in my flower beds…….

WHY????

Plants can get expensive if you have to buy them every year…….

#3 Gerber DaisyAnd these daisies comes in orange, pink, red, salmon and white……They love the sun….since the summers are so hot here in Texas…..I have this one near a tree….gets about 6 hours of sun…..seems to be very happy with the location……  🙂 Very low maintenance….also makes great flowers for pots……needs water of course….I water mine every 2 days and  use Miracle Grow to feed it once a month……I love lots of blooms……

Only grows in height about 6 inches but can expand to 2 feet in width…..and not picking about the soil either….

This is my kind of PLANT!!!!

are beautiful flowers for vases……once cut, they will last about a week in water….

#4 gerber daisyGerbera Daisies are a little tricky to grow by seed, but it can be done.  Plan on trying it out….. will keep you posted…..  🙂
